Access to St Mary's

The main path to St Mary's is temporarily closed

for safety reasons,

because of the unsafe state of the yew tree.

Do you, or anyone you know,

wish to be confirmed?

If so, please speak to

Jenny Gaffin (tel. 023 9307 0178)

or Tim Wood (tel. 023 9246 1980).

There will be a confirmation service

at St Mary's

on 6 May 2016

and preparation classes

will be arranged.

Help Save the ancient

yew tree at St Mary's

The 2000-year-old yew tree at St Mary's,

one of the oldest in the country,

is in a dangerous state.

Supporting posts have rotted

and there is a risk of big branches

coming away, causing

irreversible damage.

The cost of remedial work

by specialist contractors

is likely to be around £6,000.

Please make a donation

to save this beautiful and important tree

for the enjoyment of future generations.
